Job Role: Head, Credits
Management Level: Senior
Job Summary: Accountable for the entire credit granting process, including the consistent application of a credit policy, periodic credit reviews of existing customers, and the assessment of the creditworthiness of potential customers, to optimize the mix of company sales and bad debt losses.
*Responsible for the review and approval of commercial credit proposals of the company and to maintain a good balance between returns and risks exposure
*Lead a team of credit officers to ensure high standard credit quality of the portfolio by using various credit assessment tools.
*Engage the development, implementation, review and monitoring of various credit programs and providing training and coaching to continuously upgrade the competency of the team members
*Review and develop the company’s credit approval policies and guidelines as well as participate in ad hoc projects of investigative or trouble-shooting nature on specific customer portfolio.
*Ensure credit expansion happens to retain the asset quality
*Forecast the economic climates, identify niche areas for credit growth, risk mitigation etc.Responsible for credit growth, delivery, building and maintaining a good credit portfolio of corporate advances through high-quality appraisal
*Ensure that the business development and relationship management group understand and develop business following company’s credit guidelines
*Direct the Loan Work-Out/Special Assets process; reduce credit and collections/non-performing loan levels
*Formulate strategies to penetrate other sectors to have the first-mover advantage and make the company a preferred financial institution
*Provide advisory support to business plans & strategy, to improve the quality of credit portfolio.Ensure that new products are launched in the market periodically
*Take lead in bringing process changes for faster delivery and customer delight.
Required Educational Qualifications:
*A degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline. An MBA or master’s degree or other professional qualifications preferable.
*A minimum of 10 years of corporate banking experience in lending or related activities
*Experience in Marketing is an advantage
*Required experience related to credits, restructuring, SME and Retail
*Regulatory remediation experience a plus
*Demonstrated sales/business development experience and success
*Credit evaluation experience with complex credits and structuring
